TOOL API

dmp_custom_audience_create

Creates a custom audience from previously uploaded audience file data. You must first upload one or more files and obtain globally unique `file_path` values, then pass those paths to this endpoint. You can create up to 400 audiences per advertiser account; if the limit is reached, existing audiences must be deleted before creating new ones. Newly created audiences can take up to 48 hours to be analyzed and become active. Use the Get audience details endpoint to check audience status; only available audiences (`is_valid = true`) can be operated on. When an audience expires, it becomes unavailable (`is_valid = false`) and is detached from any active campaign. If a campaign has no targeting settings other than audience targeting, it will be paused. If you pass an incorrect `file_path` during creation, it can be modified later through `/dmp/custom_audience/update/`.

Input parameters

advertiser_idrequired

Advertiser ID.

audience_sub_type

Audience subtype indicating which ad types can use the audience. `NORMAL` can be used in non-R&F ads. `REACH_FREQUENCY` can only be used in R&F ads. Defaults to `NORMAL` if omitted.

calculate_typerequired

Encryption type for the uploaded audience data. This value must match the encryption type used by all files in `file_paths`; otherwise, audience creation can fail or return an invalid audience ID. For allowed enum values, see the Encryption Type enumeration.

custom_audience_namerequired

Audience name. Maximum 128 characters.

file_pathsrequired

List of uploaded audience file paths. Recommended list size is less than 50 for request stability. Each value must be a `file_path` returned by the Upload audience files endpoint. To append more data files after creation, use `/dmp/custom_audience/update/`.

retention_in_days

Number of days to retain the audience. Range: 1 to 365. If provided, the audience expires the specified number of days after creation, and later operations cannot reset the expiration date. If omitted, the expiration date is 365 days from the last time the audience was applied to an active ad group or modified; applying the audience to an active ad group or modifying the audience resets the expiration date.
